A Chorus Line
Book by James Kirkwood & Nicholas Dante, Music by Marvin Hamlisch,
Lyrics by Edward Kleban

A CHORUS LINE is a stunning musical-verite about a chorus audition for a Broadway musical. It tells of the achingly poignant ambitions of professional Broadway gypsies to land a job in the show, and is a powerful metaphor for all human aspiration. This Tony award winning smash hit was just recently revived on Broadway. It is a brilliantly complex fusion of dance, song and compellingly authentic drama. The show was instantly recognized as a classic. In 1984, having played for 6,137 performances at the Public and Shubert Theatres, A CHORUS LINE became the longest-running show in Broadway history. You do not want to miss this “ONE”!

    Biloxi Blues
Written by: Neil Simon
This is Chapter Two in the continuing saga of Eugene Morris Jerome, alter ego of the youthful Neil Simon. When we last met Eugene, he was coping with adolescence in the 1930’s in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn. Here, he is a young army recruit during the Second World War, going through basic training, learning more about Life, and generally developing his writer’s sensibility at boot camp in Biloxi, Mississippi in 1943. Eugene and five other assorted enlisted men suffer under a hard nosed D.I., confront the daily “mess” served up in the mess hall, join together in a visit to a local prostitute and, generally, become adults. For the first time, Eugene confronts the degradation of anti-Semitism; and, for the first time, falls in love. One of Neil Simon’s best; come see this fabulous comedy. Directed by Amy Sprouse

    Little Shop of Horrors
Book and Lyrics by: Howard Ashman Music by: Alan Menken Based on the film by Roger Corman, screenplay by Charles Griffith.
A down and out skid row floral assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon Audrey II grows into an ill tempered, foul mouthed, R&B singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite, finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised for global domination! One of the longest running Off Broadway shows of all time, this affectionate spoof of 1950’s sci fi movies has become a household name. Charming, tuneful and hilarious, Litle Shop Of Horors never fails to entertain. Directed by: Lauri Hudson

    Steel Magnolias
Written by Robert Harling The action is set in Truvy’s beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana. Helped by her eager assistant, Annelle (who is not sure whether or not she is still married), the outspoken Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser; an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social
leader, M Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby (the prettiest girl in town), is about to marry a good ole boy. Filled with hilarious repartee and revealing verbal collisions, the play moves toward tragedy when the spunky Shelby risks pregnancy and forfeits her life. The sudden realization of their mortality affects the others, but also draws on the underlying strength — and love which give the play, and its characters, the special quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad. Directed by: Ed Corsi

    DREAMGIRLS
Book and Lyrics by Tom Eyer Music by Henry Krieger
DREAMGIRLS is a show about a time in American musical history when what is called rhythm and blues blended with other styles of popular music creating a new American sound. Act One is set in the fabulous sixties - a time when we
were still screaming at Elvis and listening to the Beatles, but were dancing to the new beat of countless girl and boy groups like The Supremes, The Marvelettes, The Temptations and The Shirelles. DREAMGIRLS is not just about the singing , dancing and performing. The play is also about the behind-the-scenes reality of the entertainment industry - the business part of show business that made possible this cultural phenomenon. Act Two shows the creation and the arrival of disco-though the word is never used in the script. The subject matter of this play deals with a musical contribution to America of such importance that only now-two decades later-are we beginning to understand. Directed by: Suzanne Baldino-Jones

    The Odd Couple
Written by: Neil Simon
This classic comedy opens as a group of the guys are assembled for cards in the apartment of divorced Oscar
Madison. If the mess is any indication, it’s no wonder that his wife left him. Late to arrive is Felix Unger who has just been separated from his wife. Since he is very fastidious and none too tense, they fear he might commit suicide and go about locking all the windows. When Felix arrives, he is scarcely allowed to go to the bathroom alone. As the action unfolds, the clean-freak and the slob ultimately decide to room together with hilarious results as The Odd Couple is born. This comedy is a classic and will be sure to delight audiences of all ages. Directed by John Blackwell
